Cider donuts, hay mountains, and corn mazes that’ll get you delightfully lost – mapped out by region.
There’s a specific kind of excitement that hits Hoosier families right around Labor Day. The air hasn’t even cooled off yet, but somehow everyone’s already getting excited about Fall festivals with apple picking, pumpkin patches, hayrides, and corn mazes. Maybe it’s the promise of finally trading flip-flops for flannel. Maybe it’s just that after a long, sweaty Indiana summer, we’re all ready for an excuse to be outside enjoying Fall traditions.
Whatever it is, fall weekends in Indiana are sacred. They’re the days you actually plan for – pumpkin patch pictures for the holiday card, homemade cider and donuts, carmel popcorn, and apple cider slushies are all reasons to get out and explore all that Indiana has to offer in the Fall.
There’s something about these Indiana farms that is special – families can turn a few acres of corn into a genuine annual fall tradition! Every one of these spots is family-run, and every dollar you spend on admission or a caramel apple goes straight back into a small town or supporting the local farming community, not into a big corporate pocket. That’s worth carving out a Saturday for!
Here are eight spots worth the drive, spread out across the state so wherever you’re starting from, there’s a farm close enough for a weekend trip. These small family farms across the state pour everything into a six-week window, and they deserve the crowds. Consider this your excuse to hit the road and find a new favorite.
Central Indiana
Beasley’s Orchard – Danville, Indiana
2304 E. Main Street, Danville, IN 46122
Monday–Saturday 9am–6pm, Sunday noon–6pm (hours shift seasonally, so double-check before you go)
Twenty minutes west of Indianapolis, Beasley’s has been the go-to for so many Central Indiana families that it barely needs an introduction. The corn maze alone is worth the trip. This maze is designed by Brett Herbst, who’s basically the LeBron James of corn maze design, with over four miles of paths to get delightfully lost in. Hop the hayride out to the u-pick pumpkin patch, let the kids loose on the giant Hay Mountain, and don’t leave without a cup of their apple cider, which has won multiple awards!
Stuckey Farm Orchard and Cider Mill – Sheridan, Indiana
19975 Hamilton Boone Road, Sheridan, IN 46069
Thursday–Saturday 10am–7pm, Sunday 1pm–7pm
Stuckey’s offers apple picking across 4,000 trees, a corn maze, wagon rides, sunflower fields earlier in the season, but let’s be honest, most people come back for the apple cider donuts. Admission covers basically everything: the play area (aptly named Adventure Acres, complete with a 60-foot slide), unlimited wagon rides, the corn maze, and the pumpkin patch. Plan your trip today!
Kelsay Farms – Whiteland, Indiana
7010 E. Raymond Street, Indianapolis, IN
Just south of Indianapolis, Kelsay Farms keeps things a little more low-key but no less fun, with a seven-acre corn maze, a straw bale mountain, kiddie train rides, and a barn full of corn kernels that kids can dig through like sand. It’s a great pick if you want fall charm without the mega-farm crowds.
Tuttle Orchards – Greenfield, Indiana
5717 N. 300 W., Greenfield, IN 46140
Monday–Saturday, 9am–6pm (extended hours in fall), closed Sundays
Tuttle Orchards is a fourth-generation, family-run farm with apple picking, a corn maze, pumpkin patch, a café, a farmer’s market, a sunflower field you can cut your own bouquet from in September, and a kids’ area called Tractor Town. It’s just east of Indianapolis, so it overlaps a bit geographically with Stuckey Farm and the Lark Ranch Greenfield location, but it’s a distinct farm with its own following particularly for the apple picking since it’s a working orchard with delicious apples and cider.
Northwest/West Central Indiana
Exploration Acres – Lafayette, Indiana
6042 Newcastle Road, Lafayette, IN 47905
Check their site for current-week hours – they shift seasonally, with extended evening hours on weekends in October
About an hour North of Indy, Exploration Acres bills itself as Northwest Indiana’s largest corn maze, and the numbers back it up. With over 20 acres split into four separate mazes, this puzzle has roughly 10 miles of paths combined. The 11-acre pumpkin patch has more than 38 varieties to choose from with pricing based on the pumpkin weight. There’s also a laser tag zone, fire pits you can rent for the evening, and a country store slinging pumpkin rolls and fresh cider.
South of Indianapolis
Lark Ranch – Loogootee, Lanesville, and Greenfield, Indiana
Lanesville: 1565 St Johns Church Rd NE, Lanesville, IN 47136
Greenfield: 1611 N Meridian Rd, Greenfield, IN 46140
Loogootee: 3145 Killion Mill Road, Loogootee, IN 47553
Weekends throughout September and October
Lark Ranch actually runs three separate locations across the state, which makes it a genuinely convenient pick no matter where you’re coming from. All three locations offer the same features: a big corn maze, hayrides, and a pumpkin patch, with the small-town charm turned up depending on which one you visit. Plan to hit up all three!
Southern Indiana
Huber’s Orchard, Winery & Vineyard – Starlight, Indiana
19816 Huber Road, Starlight, IN 47106
If you want to turn the pumpkin patch into a full day trip, Huber’s is the move. It’s less “farm with a corn maze” and more of an “agritourism destination.” You can pick apples and pumpkins, wander the corn maze, taste wine, and grab lunch, all without leaving the property. It’s a favorite for the New Albany and Louisville crowd looking for something that offers more for adults, too!
Fowler Pumpkin Patch – Bloomington, Indiana
4932 N Greene County Line Road, Bloomington, IN 47403
Thursday 4–7pm, Friday–Sunday 10am–7pm, late September through October 31
A South Central Indiana staple with a no-frills, genuinely charming feel with a pumpkin patch, a petting zoo, hayrides, and a corn maze, with no entrance fee to just walk around and shop. It’s the kind of place that still feels like an actual working farm rather than a fall-themed amusement park, which has its own appeal.
Northeast Indiana
Kuehnert Dairy Farm – Fort Wayne, Indiana
6532 West Cook Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46818
Friday 6–9pm, Saturday 10am–9pm, Sunday noon–5pm, September through late October
Kuehnert has been outside of Fort Wayne since 1897, and their fall festival leans into that heritage with corn mazes, a pumpkin patch, and baby calves to visit. It’s proof that the best fall spots aren’t always the biggest ones; sometimes they’re just the ones that have been doing it right for generations.
